Acquisition Services

Acquisition Services refers to marketing to those who are not existing clients/customers or prospects, with the goal of acquiring or adding them as a new client/customer or prospect. Simply put, List Building. In today's realm of permission-based marketing, this means directing your audience to a registration or subscription process, validating their email address and intention to subscribe (i.e. for receipt of a newsletter, push advertising, alerts etc.) and then providing each subscriber with a means to modify their subscription information and to unsubscribe from future mailings. In addition marketers must make available, an abuse address, for recipients to report email-related and subscription-related abuse.

By law, this is required for each email message sent and for all private information collected. This can be done either manually, or automatically. We chose the later and have built a complete closed-loop process that we host and maintain on your behalf. By using our Acquisition Services, your marketing campaigns will fulfill all legal requirements for both the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and CAN-SPAM Act, as well as building a database of qualified subscribers.

We provide a complete hosted service, where we seamlessly integrate our subscription code into your web property or email communication. The code will direct your subscribers to our hosted version of your sign up page (really a series of pages). We can even mimic your web property so that users will not see any difference in continuity.

Our technology will produce a list of all subscribers and their declared information, which can be instantly targeted in a campaign.  This is achieved using a quick, simple process where potential subscribers are sent an email message when they first sign-up.  The email contains a URL that must be clicked in order to activate the subscription.  This ensures that the address entered is valid and functioning.  It also ensures that only the true email address holder can activate the subscription and that their intention was to subscribe.   This effectively removes any scenarios where an address can be added without the individual's consent, eliminating any possibility of sending Spam.

Once a subscription is activated, subscribers are sent an email message that contains a URL, which will allow them to modify their subscription information. No passwords required, just the URL.  

In addition, this service provides subscribers with a context sensitive help facility, which will identify any problems that the subscriber is having with the sign up program and will provide instructions for resolving the issue. For issues that cannot be resolved, we provide our support email address on each screen ensuring that contact with us is no further than one click away.

We also include an automated access search for recipients who have lost/deleted their access URL email.   This is a fully automated process, providing a complete self serve solution.

Deployment is even easier. Once the custom subscription interface is completed, we will provide you with 2 URLs that can be added to your web site, which will allow visitors to automatically subscribe, modify their information or to unsubscribe from your list/newsletter/alerts/ads etc.   The URLs can be placed anywhere throughout your web site, or even in an email message.  The concept is to provide multiple sources for sign-up to ensure that most of your audience is given an opportunity to participate.

2. Can Be Used With A Rented List
It only makes sense to offer a subscription sign up link in every email marketing campaign, whether your goal is acquisition or retention. It is vital to provide a 'viral marketing' mechanism, to assist in expanding your list size. Even when you market using a rented list, you should be inviting those recipients to sign up for your list. Once they do, they are now YOUR recipients, to market to as you please. The sign up link can also be used by anyone else who has the message forwarded to them, like friends of the recipient. Suggesting that a recipient 'tell a friend' or forward the message to a friend, is an important part of a good viral campaign.

3. Double Opt-in Process
We provide a double opt-in subscription process that produces a verified, clean list and database, which also automatically manages your subscribers. We seamlessly integrate our service with your web property and email communications. By mimicking a page on your web site, your visitors will not see any difference in continuity as they travel from your web property to our sign up version, hosted on our servers. The entire process is self-serve and fully automated, from sign-up to unsubscribe. A support email addresses is also available on each screen in the sign up process, as well as the provision of context sensitive help responses, which assists users should they have any difficulties.

4. It Will Build A Database
Our technology produces a list of all subscribers and their declared information, which can be instantly targeted in a campaign or downloaded. We can also add your current database to our process, so that all of your existing subscribers will be able to make use of our modification and unsubscribe services. Since this is a complete self-serve solution, you will not have to dedicate any resources for support. Equally as important, this ensures that you have all of the necessary processes in place in order to comply with all Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and CAN-SPAM act requirements. We can also integrate this service with our Automated Delivery Services, so that all new subscribers will receive a personalized welcome email, which can contain product/service promotions, coupons, contact URLs or addresses, etc.

5. Quick, Simple Sign Up Process
The Sign Up Service consists of a quick, simple process where potential subscribers fill out a form with the requested information (email address and first name are the minimum required fields, however there is no restriction on what information can be collected). When they submit their information, they are sent an email message containing a URL that they must click, in order to activate their registration. This confirms that the address entered is valid (and functioning properly) and that the potential subscriber's intention is in fact, to register. It also ensures that only the true email address holder can activate the registration, removing any scenarios where an address can be added without the individual's consent.

6. Automated Self-Management
Once a registration is activated, subscribers are sent an email message containing a URL that will allow them to modify their information as well as to unsubscribe. No passwords are required, just the URL. We also include an automated access screen for recipients who have lost/deleted their access URL email. A special 'manage your subscription' link is placed both on the web site and in all email campaigns, which leads to this screen (requires the subscriber to enter their email address and first name). The subscriber will be then be sent, via email, a URL that they click, to access their subscription information, or to unsubscribe.

7. Detailed Reporting
Built on our proprietary OLAP (On-line Analytical Processing) technology, the Reporting Module is a high-powered database query and analysis tool. All results are displayed in colourful, interactive reports containing detailed graphs and metrics. Reports are accessible 24/7, are in true real-time and can be downloaded to your desktop into a .csv file format. All reporting access and file downloading is done through a secure server to ensure maximum protection of the files and results.

We are able to track all relevant activity on a sign up source basis. The reporting displays results as an aggregate of all sources in addition to segmentation by sign up source. Examples of sources could be a web site, newsletter, partner site, trade show etc. Results for all sign up sources are displayed on a master screen, enabling quick performance comparisons.

Reporting Includes:

Variable Reporting Periods Reporting gives you the option to display results based on daily, monthly or annual activity.
Non-Responders Total The total non-response count for the initial activation e-mail sent, which requires a click to activate the subscriber's registration. The total is broken down into 3 categories. This is especially helpful in understanding the nature of the inactivity.
Not Activated After 10 Days The total number of sign ups that have not been activated after 10 days. This value represents those who have received the initial activation e-mail, but have decided to not activate their subscription.
Not Activated Yet Totals The number of sign ups that have not been activated within 10 days of signing up. This value will change constantly, as subscribers activate their registrations and new subscribers sign up.
Subscribe Page Activity that occurred on the Subscription Page. The subscribers are cookied and are tracked based on the sign up source they are using. The Page Visits count, (page views), indicates the number times the subscription page has been viewed. The Visitors number indicates the unique number of individuals who have visited the subscription page. Frequency is calculated as Page Visits / Visitors.
Subscribed The number of current subscribers.
Subscription Requests The total number of sign up requests received through the subscription process.
Unsubscribed The number of subscribers removed from the sign up program.
Frequency The average number of times each individual has visited the page.
Manage Page Visits Activity that occurred on the Information Management Request Page. When a subscriber requires access to their information, they can use this page to request to have their access URL sent to their e-mail address, so that they may either change their information or unsubscribe. The subscribers are cookied and are tracked based on the sign up source they initially visited.
Information Changes The number of information modifications that have occurred. This is when a subscriber has changed their subscription information. We log each modification, recording the original information and the new. Total indicates all changes made, unique indicates the number of individuals who have made changes and frequency indicates the average number of times each individual has changed their information.
