1.  Can I send my message to an Inbox Advertising list of recipients?

No. It is important to clarify a couple of things - Inbox Advertising does not offer services, where you would send your email message to recipients on someone else's list. We offer retention emailing services, where we send your messaging to your mailing lists (with full tracking and reporting - even down to hourly progress).

We also provide a service that enables you to build your own lists, where we host a subscription sign up process that collects subscriber sign up information and allows subscribers to manage their own subscriptions. The resulting database can then be instantly (or automatically) targeted with your messaging.

If you are looking to target someone else's mailing list, then you'll need to contact another company. If you would like to build your own list, or market to your existing list, then we are the company to use.

2.  We may not want to send a text version of this campaign - do you always require one?

That depends on your recipients' email application. We send mulit-part or mixed campaigns to lists where the recipients have a mix of viewing ability. They consist of both a text and html version of the creative. What happens is a 'sniffer' in the code we use determines which version the recipient's email application can view. If it can view html, then that gets displayed, if not, then the text will get displayed.

The reasoning is, we play it safe. When you don't know what the recipient can view, it is safest to send it this way, otherwise, the text only people will always be looking at html source code, instead of the message. If we were just sending to an all html list, then we would only use html creative and if the list were all text recipients, we would only use text creative.

3.  Can we use more than one customization field in an email message?

i.e. We have a field for first and last name and we have a Sales Rep's name associated with each person.
The greeting we would like to use would be something like this: "Hi Jane Plain, it's your sales rep Kirk.."
Is this possible?

Yes. There is no restriction to the number of fields you can use and where you can use them, except for one, you cannot personalize the From: field, it remains static. To accomplish your example above, you would supply a database containing the following:

Email Address First Name Last Name Sales Rep
jane@some-domain.com Jane Plain Kirk
tarzan@some-domain.com Tarzan A. Peman Tanya
cheetah@some-domain.com Cheetah Smith Kirk
bob@some-domain.com Bob Robertson Kirk
carmen@some-domain.com Carmen D'Agostino Tanya
zowie@some-domain.com Zowie Bowie Tanya

You then indicate where you would like the personalization to be placed, using placeholders (or macros) as below:
Hi [first name] [last name], it's your sales rep [sales rep].."

As each email is generated, the recipient's data will be swapped in where the placeholders are positioned.

4.  When a recipient clicks, is there any way for us to identify them when they arrive at our web site?

Yes. Parameters (personalized data) can be passed through any link in a text, html and mixed campaign. You just have to indicate to your campaign manager which link(s) we'll be using to pass the data and what variable names you will be using to retrieve the data.

This will enable the destination site to know exactly who has arrived. One advantage is that you can customize the page (and subsequent pages) to that particular responder's database information. You'll also be able to log specific information about the recipient throughout the entire process, from the receipt of the email to an acquisition (i.e. product sale, whitepaper download etc.).

5.  I have some very sensitive data. What type of security do you offer?

Inbox Advertising is extremely focused on your security. The Internet can be a scary place if you do not take the necessary precautions to protect yourself. We have. As part of our security protocols, we have been approved by Thawte Inc., as being certified to accept secure transmissions on our servers, ensuring that your uploads, downloads and reporting results are all encrypted and thus unreadable during transmission.
